British Heart Foundation
Loughborough University began working in partnership with The British Heart Foundation in 2013 for our annual end of year clear out which runs at the end of the summer term when students vacate their halls of residence.
Each year we now donate around 3,000 bags of reusable items to The British Heart Foundation through the permanent banks on site and the end of term clear out.
On average:
- Each donated bag is worth around £14 to BHF
- Each bag weighs 8KG
Our total contributions for 2021 worked out at 652 bags in total given to BHF and diverted from landfill (or incinerated for energy recovery).
