Summer Reading Challenge
As part of the National Year of Reading, June can be all about rediscovering the joy of reading for pleasure and embracing a little adventure along the way.
During the summer, the Library invites you to take part in their Summer Reading Challenge. This year’s challenge encourages you to explore with a reading passport. The idea is simple: borrow books, try new genres, and track your reading adventures as you go. Each book becomes a new destination, each genre a different landscape to explore.
Your reading passport is a way to:
- Discover genres you may not usually choose
- Record and reflect on your reading journey
- Celebrate the variety of stories and voices you encounter
Whether you decide to explore crime fiction, contemporary romance, historical novels, fantasy, memoir, poetry, or translated fiction, the challenge is designed to make reading feel playful and exploratory again.
