Library's Read Around the World Display

A student reading a book in the University Library.

As part of the National Year of Reading, Pilkington Library is offering users the opportunity to expand their reading horizons and reconnect with the joy of discovery. From 4-8 May, the Library invites you to explore their Read Around the World Display.

This curated collection features books from different countries and cultures, offering:

  • Stories set across continents
  • Authors from a wide range of cultural backgrounds
  • Fiction and non-fiction that broaden global perspectives
  • Voices you may not have encountered in your usual reading

Whether you’re drawn to contemporary international fiction, translated works, memoir, or cultural histories, this display is designed to help you discover something new. It’s an opportunity to step beyond familiar genres or authors and experience storytelling through a different lens.
